Sound Therapy

Sound Healing Classes Orange County

Sound has a therapeutic affect on our energy body.  At some point in our lives, we have all been affected in some way by sound whether it’s beautiful music which moves us or the screeching tires of a car in New York traffic. Whatever the sound may be, we can attest to sound having an affect on our emotions.

Sound therapy has been used for thousands of years across many cultures as a tool for healing.  By using the frequency in which these sound tools create, we can provide resonance with the corresponding areas in our body which have fallen out of their natural vibratory state.  As a recipient of sound therapy, there are two parts to the experience:

  • Passive
  • Participatory

A passive state is required due to the fact that complete surrender and relaxation is optimal for these sessions.  Therefore, in a passive or meditative state the recipient is able to better receive the affects of the sound.

Participation is required due to the nature of the sound in that only the recipient can conclude the affects on this body.  In this way, awareness is drawn back into the body in order to understand how the body responds to the sound within each area.

In this sense, it is a unique experience of mind and body working together to achieve the same goal – vibrational resonance.

How Energy Frequency and Disease are Linked

Vibrational Medicine or Energy Medicine, is based on the scientific principles that all matter vibrates to a precise frequency and that by using resonant vibration, balance of matter can be restored. Quantum Physics has long explained through the Law of Vibration that everything which exists in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual realms does so on a vibratory basis.  And everything that exists does so at a base resonance.  For instance, a healthy human body vibrates at a frequency of 62-72Hz.  The heart between 67-70Hz. This signature frequency, when interrupted by outside factors can be altered.  Once altered it can be said to be in a state of dis-cord causing dis-ease.  Disease can then be described in very simple terms as falling out of range with your natural vibratory frequency.

Something as small as the common cold occurs when our body’s frequency dips down between 57-60Hz.

Sound Therapy is the use of sound tools which are “programmed” at set vibrations, to bring the body, organs and cells back to resonance. The body/organs/cells then match the vibration being played for re-alignment.  This is known as vibrational resonance.

Physical and emotional ailments can also be detected with sound therapy tools such as tuning forks.  For instance, when placed on a fractured bone, a clear tone indicates an uninjured bone, whereas the absence of sound reveals the presence of a fracture.(1)

What are studies saying?

Below are just a few significant studies showing how Sound Therapy can be effective in reducing different symptoms/diagnoses.

  • A 2-year study by the Klaus Tschira Foundation in Germany showed that Sound Therapy was able to significantly reduce the symptoms of chronic tinnitus. In addition, MRI images of the subject’s brains during treatment showed that Sound Therapy was able to activate part of the brain that researchers believed were responsible for the unpleasant symptoms associated with tinnitus
  • A 2005 study conducted by University of Rochester examined the effects of Music Therapy through the use of the use of group singing, drumming, and music on those with Huntington’s disease found that it assisted with relaxation. All of the 5 subjects who participated in the trial responded similarly well to the use of Sound Therapy.
  • Dr Hashim Ahmed, who led the study at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation found that Sound Wave Therapy successfully cured 90% of male patients that were suffering from prostate cancer, and did so without any harmful side effects whatsoever.  Dr. Ahmed stated “We’re optimistic that men diagnosed with prostate cancer may soon be able to undergo a day case surgical procedure, which can be safely repeated once or twice, to treat their condition with very few side-effects.”
  • Neuroscientist Jessica Grahn of the University of Western Ontario studies how music and rhythm can entrain muscles, providing external timing to help the brain compensate. Her research adds to growing evidence for music as a therapy for Parkinson’s symptoms. “Even when you’re passively listening to a rhythm, you’re engaging motor networks,” says Zanto of UC San Francisco. “And so in the context of Parkinson’s disease, it’s not incredibly surprising that music therapy helps them, because the music is effectively engaging the motor system.”

“Sound enters the healing equation from several directions: It may alter cellular functions through energetic effects; it may entrain biological systems to function more homeostatically; it may calm the mind and therefore the body; or it may have emotional effects, which influence neurotransmitters and neuropeptides, which in turn help to regulate the immune system–the healer within.”

Our holistic approach combines Traditional Medicine with Energy Medicine using the following modalities: Reiki, Mind-Body Therapy and Reflexology. Learn more about each method below.

Vibrational Therapy

Vibrational Therapy involves the use of tuning forks for both emotional and physical ailments.  Each is attuned to a set frequency and used to increase the amount of energy on parts of the specific body part (for physical ailments) or energy center (for emotional ailments).  Through the sound produced, specific ailments can be detected.  Also used to move stagnant energy and help improve energy flow is Acutonics®.

Sound & Energy Therapy

Combining energy and sound therapies delves deep into the energetic body aimed at disease and disharmony. This energy system works on multiple layers of healing including the physical body, emotional body and spiritual body. These powerful sessions move rejuvenate the flow of energy in the body and clear blocks.
